Hog Cholera Summit in the Philippines and OIE Expert's participation (Quezon City, 3-4 October 2002)
A Hog Cholera Summit organised by the Bureau of Animal Industry of the Philippines was held in Quezon City, Philippines on 3-4 October 2002 with about 300 participants from various sectors in the country such as national institutes, provincial veterinarians, swine farm enterprises. Lectures on diagnosis, vaccination and control practices of the disease were given by speakers from Japan, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Taipei China and the Philippines.
Dr Akio Fukusho, Department of Exotic Diseases, National Institute of Animal Health, Tokyo, Japan, participated in the meeting as the OIE Hog Cholera Expert and spoke on Current World Situation of Classical Swine Fever and Trends in its Control and Eradication.
